It is that time of year...What time you ask??? The MOST Wonderful time, of course!

SO with Thanksgiving behind us and Christmas rapidly approaching, as soon as we got home from eating Turkey with the family I began taking down all of my fallish decor and broke out all of my wintry, Christmas"y" WONDERS!
Thanks to our good friends, The Lane's, and Jennifer's (Lane) splurge 2 years ago the day after Christmas, we were given a GORGEOUS, 9ft prelit tree. The thing is MASSIVE! I love it and I have proudly placed it slap dab in the middle of our house for all to see (I am SURE Santa can see it from the North Pole)!
Matthew was not pleased with the placement of the tree, but after setting it up and carefully placing each and every glass ornament that I have collected over the last several years, it grew on him and he is quite pleased with the outcome :)

In addition to the Most wonderful time of the year... we have yet again embarked upon ANOTHER project! Yes, Yes, another project (Poor, poor Matthew! But YAY!!!!) This week out goes our carpet in our upstairs livingroom and in goes new flooring. While we have the carpet up we plan to drop in can lights for the kitchen (recessed lighting). I am super siked about this because currently our house does not have "adequate" lighting, so this will be a wonderful addition. I must add that I am NOT a slave driver, I swear! Honestly, the majority of these projects are thought up by Matthew, and once he mentions them to me he plants this seed into my brain and although it may have just been a "thought" for Matt, at that moment that he utters his thoughts, it becomes an instant "work-in-progress" :) and I think about it and talk about it until the day he turns his thoughts into a "project well done". Here are some pics start to finish.. the floor is complete as well upstairs, but my house is a little "untidy" at the moment and not worthy of a photo op! (sorry :) )

Lights, floor... Perfection!
I am so excited for the upcoming weeks, we have lots of plans. This Saturday I was a part of a wonderful event that our new church puts on, it is called "shop with a Hero" where underpriviledged children receive a gift card to Wal-Mart to shop with a local hero (police officers, firemen, etc.) for Chirstmas goods for themselves or their family and we help wrap and support them. This Wednesday the Floyd's will put on their annual Christmas Party which is always a wonderful time, and the ladies of the party wil exchange ornaments (love that!). Then on Saturday the Neikirk's will host their annual Christmas gathering, where we will do a little "white elephant" gift exchange. And THEN.... YEP, it's Christmas! I am so excited to mark mine & Matthew's 3rd  Married Christmas together and I look forward to many, many more!

With Lots of Love Merry, Merry Christmas,

And.. We Gobbled 'Til we Wobbled With Thanks!

Our Thanksgiving was wonderful, filled with lots of eating, laughing, RESTING, visiting and good ol' fashioned family time.

ThanksgivingBlog postpics
This year my parents spent Thanksgiving Day with my Nana, and my Aunt Susan in Florida, So we celebrated on the Saturday before with the both of them, Aunt Kim, Mercer, Zane and Camden, Jill and Papa.
Matthew and I celebrated Thanksgiving Day with a massive bunch at The Cucuzza's. This year the attendance for Thanksgiving was huge, it was the whole GA Cucuzza Fam, including Carolyn, David & Matt Duncan, (Katy's Parents and brother) Aunt Carol, Jillian and Francesca (foreign exchange student from Italy, she fit in VERY well) came from NY, Uncle Tom and Aunt Susan came from Cleveland, Jayne and Grandpa Lou came from The Lake of the Ozark, Leslie and Javi came from Arizona, and Uncle Joe, Michelle and Clayton surprised everyone from Pennsylvania.
I came down with the Swine Flu starting Saturday night, and then Tuesday after my symptoms worsened I was also diagnosed with pneumonia... it was horrible, horrible, horrible! My Doctors office was very aggressive with the treatment and I completely credit them to my feeling MUCH better by Thursday! Not without a nasty cough, and feeling a little weak, but feeling a million times better than the few days prior and able to join everyone for Turkey :).
It was a full house and it was a great time! I am so glad the Swine Flu released me from its wrath just in time to spend time with everyone.

Two Years ago Today...

As I sit here and reflect to get this post together, I smile. I smile because 2 wonderful years ago today I officially started to consider myself one of the luckiest girls in the whole wide world. 2 years ago today I walked down a marble aisle, draped with a red runner, the air was hot, but the backdrop was irreplaceable. 2 years ago today two became one in The Riviera Maya, Mexico. 2 years ago today I became part of a family that is so loving, so caring, so God fearing and so generous. 2 years ago today I married an absolutely amazing individual, He is smart, He is BOLD, He is strong, He provides, He is loyal, He is so handsome, He is funny, He is Matthew Cucuzza, He is My best friend... And Most of all HE LOVES me unconditionally. Matthew is the last piece to my "puzzle". Matthew and I have had our share of "hurdles" over the past two years, but I thank God for each and every obstacle that has been thrown our way, because with out each one of those trials I truly believe our relationship would not be where it is today.
It is not always easy, and we do work hard for what we have, but it is a job well worth it and I am blessed and truly honored to Be Mrs. Jessica Cucuzza. So we are taking this day to just enjoy eachother and share quiet moments and reflect upon what TODAY mean to us.
I am not only writing this to profess my absolute love and adoration for Matthew, but to also thank each and every one of our beloved friends and family that have guided, joined and celebrated with us over the past two years and many, many, many more years to come. Thank you to our Parents who made this all possible, because without them we would not be here today.
1 Corinthians 13:1-13
If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away all my possessions, and if I hand over my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end. For we know only in part, and we prophesy only in part; but when the complete comes, the partial will come to an end. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known. And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.

Spooktacular Birthday!

From Blogger Pictures
This weekends festivities went off without a hitch! All the planning and prep work was well worth it and I had a great time, and by some of the pictures that were snapped so did everyone else :)
I took the day off on Friday, went to the office with breakfast for Matthew and I and then went home and hit the ground running to decorate the entire downstairs of our house for our party, and prepped all the food for later that evening.
It was a busy, busy day but well worth it. We had quite a group and the costumes were greatly entertaining! We had not one, but TWO Barack Obama's, a Suicide bomber (nothing the 2 Barry O's couldn't handle, the peace was kept all evening and no one got hurt) Billy Mays graced us with his presence, Larry the cable guy, Joe Dirtae (Not to dress it up or anything) and his beloved girlfriend arrived looking trashy as ever, A prom King and his Queen came circa 1985, Raggedy Ann came looking not so raggedy at all and quite sassy, a preggo Nun, a Disco Diva, a Flapper, Roman God and Goddess, and throw a Love Bug in the mix.... WOW, what else you ask???? THE FLINSTONES!!! Yes, Fred and Wilma hosted the shindig! Dino took the night off (Sasha wasnt feeling Halloween this year). We held a contest for the Best costume... And the winner was.... Billy Mays! Lee Coverdale did a fantastic job represent the Late Infomercial Mogul and took home a $25 giftcertificate to El Ranchero! (which he promised to take me to eat on :) )
Saturday, we relaxed at the house all day and watched the Dawgs loose, so unfortunate, but predictable :/ and later that night we went over to the Floyd's to see Miss Hailey baby all dressed up in her costume! She went trick-or-treating for the first time and showed everyone in the neighborhood just how much of a sweet little Love Bug she was :) I love that child, she is such a joy!

Hailey's First Halloween

Sunday, My actual Birthday, was another LAZY day. I woke up to what appeared to look like Chirstmas in my living room, but it was all my presies from Matthew! I am such a lucky girl, he most definetly knows how to take care of me, and listens to every little thing I mention ;) He is soooo good! Unfortunately when I woke up I was not feeling too hot, so I laid around while Matthew did some straightening up of the house and baking of my Birthday cake. After a nice relaxing day (for me) we headed out to Maggiano's for dinner to seal the wonderful Birthday weekend off with an absolutely delish dinner!

Maggiano's Birthday Dinner

I can not put into words how much I appreciate everyone who came out to celebrate with me, and all of the Birthday wishes I received. It was an amazing weekend, not just one day, but the entire weekend was great!
27 will be a good year, and I thank you, thank you, thank you for getting it started off right, with lots of Love, laughs, great food and Fun!

Enjoy the pics ;)

It's a PARRRRTAY!!!!

OH! Today I am officially SIKED about next weekend! I have been kind of "down" about my Birthday (because I am getting old ), but today I have turned over a new leaf (just in time for the season, whew:) ) I AM PUMPED!!! We have planned a big Halloween Bash for my 27th Birthday, and everyone is to come in their best costume and there will be a prize for best dressed :) Sasha will be the best though! I know it :)
I have so much to do before this big bash, and just now getting pumped about it has kind of left me with not so much time :/. I am also really excited that my party is on Friday, Saturday is Halloween and then Sunday (the actual day of my Birthday) we are going to my favorite resturant of choice to celebrate with the rentals and in-laws. So the whole weekend will be jam packed with fun times!
Nicole has been taunting me with what my Brithday presie could be, and she is so siked about giving it to me that I am just beyond curious as to what it could possibly be??? She and I talk so much on a daily basis it is hard for me to remember what I could have mentioned to her that I wanted, and not to mention she says she has had it for some time now??? SHE IS GOOD!  Matthew has had a ton up his sleeve the past 2 weeks (planning my gift(s) ) he is the best at Brithday's, well any holiday really, he always out does himself and I end up with a ton of stuff just from him :) Do Not get me wrong, I am NOT complaining! I love it!! PUHLEASE, I am an only, I have been indulged in my entire life, and Matt has been sure to keep the indulgance going. My Nana has always said "I am NOT spoiled, I am indulged in" :) (Just to let you all know, who may be thinking I am spoiled rotten.... I'm NOT... Nana says :) )
My FIL is allowing me to have the whole day off on Friday to prepare for this fabulous event (there goes the indulgance again :) ). There is lots to decorate and lots to cook. We are going to attempt to transform our entire downstairs area into a "haunted experience". Mine and Matthew's (secret) costumes are not scary at all, quite frankly I think they are absolutely precious, and well suited.
I have lots in store for next week and tons of goodies for everyone coming to celebrate my special day, I am so excited and so thankful!
Keep posted, there will be some GREAT photos posted!!

**UNDER CONSTRUCTION**

I haven't updated in a few weeks, and Nicole (My Bestie, the blogging QUEEN) informed me that I needed to update... so here it is...
Anyone, who knows Matthew and I, knows that our home is ALWAYS under construction of some type, whether it be painting, flooring, painting, flooring, new kitchen cabinets, did I mention PAINTING and FLOORING?? Yeah well at our home, it never stops! and to add insult to injury I love to re-arrange the furniture, it gives me a sense of "newness". Needless to say Matthew stays very busy because of my infinite "Honey Do" list. I am always sure to reassure him of how beautiful it will all look when it is ALL done (batting my eyelashes and being sure that my baby blues are melting his heart :) ).
Our current project is our Kitchen. We are in the process of completely giving it a face lift. I have been so excited about this project, because it is the first thing you see when you enter our home. And it never really had the WOW factor and now... well, Now it is getting there. We used the original cabinets, but added several custom touches (photos to come).
SOOOO, Slap dab in the middle of this project I decided I had the URGE (might I go ahead and add just how much MY sweet, sweet Hubby just LOVES when I get these) to go all out and "re-do" our guest bathroom off of the kitchen, heck, the kitchen was getting soooooo much attention why not spread the love to the other rooms nearby? Only problem here, I HATE, I mean HATE painting. I put my brain to it and started on this venture all by myself, of course completely against what Matthew had said, all because I HAD to have the bathroom DONE. Well, after he heard about the umpteenth "oops"and "uhhht ohhh" he jumped in and unwillingly helped. Little did I know how difficult it was to paint a pale yellow, and the bathroom came to a halt after we realized it was going to be SEVERAL coats before it looked the way I wanted it. 4 weeks later and ALL BY MYSELF, I completed that bathroom and it looks absolutely beautiful. Kitchen is still not finished (almost) but my guest bathroom sure as heck looks GREAT! :)

I will be sure to keep all of you abreast of our current construction project. Like I said earlier, I promise to post the photos of our Kitchen (and of us) in its final stages soon :) I have a new camera on the way, this is the reason for no pictures currently.

Quality Time

This past weekend we did a lot of relaxing and catching up on Matthew, me & Sasha Pup time. Friday, I did not feel well all day, and started to come around that evening. We visited with the Floyd's and then had an early night. Saturday, I started my day with an AWESOME walk with Caroline Neikirk. She took me to this park by her that is called Little Mulberry Park, it is beautiful, and perfect weather for a nice long walk. I got home around noon to a spotless home, thanks to my spectacular Hubby who just wanted me to take it easy. We settled in and enjoyed a good dose of College football (GOOOO DAWGS!!), even though it was a heart breaker of a game :(, woke up Sunday and enjoyed a great morning of worship, came home and relaxed some more.

This weekend was much needed after all the traveling we have done in the past month, Matthew to Italy, me to NY, And time we have spent away from each other it was a breath of fresh air to just chill at home with my FAVE two ;)

Welcome!

Hi! Welcome to our blog, where I plan to keep our friends and family up to date and posted on all the happenings of our crrazy, yet LOVE filled life!
Matthew and I went to school together growing up, and I don't think either one of us had ever imagined we would be happily married one day.
I was born in Yonkers, NY and lived there until I was 9. My Mother and I moved to Georgia in 1992. My roots are Northern and I love to go back to NY to visit often, but I have most definetly been "southern fried" (as I like to say) Georgia is my home and where my heart is.
Matthew and I got engaged May 12, 2007 and married on November 10, 2007 in Playa del Carmen, Mexico which is located in the Riviera Maya about 1.5 hours south of Cancun. Our wedding was a dream come true, not only because I married my best friend, but because of the location and just to have a destination wedding was spectacular. I had never been out of the country, much less off the east coast, before our wedding and it was also super exciting to be able to experience that with Matthew!
Matthew and Carl (my Father-in-law) started a company 2 years ago January and this June they gave me the opportunity to quit my job and come work for them. It has been quite an adjustment, but a wonderful one. I would not have it any other way and cannot even think about how we did it before I worked for them.
Matthew and I live in our home town of Loganville with our sweet Sasha Pup, our 8 year old Rottweiler.
My life has been blessed in so many ways, and I am so thankful for all of it!

We hope you enjoy reading about the "goings on" with the M&J Cucuzza's :)
